We have a daily writing prompt each morning in homeschool. One day last week was national toast day, and the kids each had to write instructions for making toast. This was David's.
1. Take a piece of bread.
2. Put it in the toaster.
3. Set it to whatever frickin' setting you feel like.
4. Pull little lever thingy.
5. When it pops up and you hear someone say, "Who's toast is done?", immediately spread butter or peanut butter or cleanut schnutter or phleanut glutter on it.
6. Wait 60 sec. and put on schninnamony shtugary.
7. Chomp.
8. Tell Mom you're hungry still.
9. Ask for whatever is in the fridge, pantry, or bake center.
10. Wait for her to say no.
11. Sulk.

Baby Lamb!

This baby lamb was born this morning, from one of three ewes we have. The kids love it and are spending lots of time in the barn today. It sounds like a little car horn when it bleats. We're trying to get the mother to nurse it, but so far she's resistant. We may have to get some milk replacer before the day is out.

"Mom, There's Blood Gushing Everywhere!"

Adam came rushing downstairs this afternoon to inform me that Benny's lip had a huge hole in it and there was blood gushing everywhere. Apparently he was playing on his top bunk bed when James came crashing onto it, causing the board underneath to slam up into his lip. Luckily it wasn't quite as bad as Adam thought. I think what happened was that his teeth went down through his lip. There was quite a bit of blood, but mouth injuries are usually that way. He's okay now, but he'll have a fat lip for a couple of days. It will be pretty sore, too.
